Somi Select Studio was created from my love of thoughtful curation, meaningful experiences, and finding ways to make people feel genuinely excited about what they receive. Before starting this shop, I spent years working professionally in reselling, sourcing, consultative sales, and education — experiences that shaped how I approach both people and business.

Working in sales taught me something important:

Products come and go… but the feeling of getting an amazing deal, being thoughtfully considered, and experiencing real joy lasts much longer.

I was never the type of salesperson focused on simply making a sale. My background was in consultative sales — listening, understanding people, responding thoughtfully, and helping create experiences that actually felt worth it. That mindset became the foundation of this shop.

I also spent over a decade working in education, which deeply shaped how I value communication, creativity, encouragement, patience, and human connection. Combined with volunteer humanitarian work, those experiences continue to influence how I build this business and interact with my community.

I’m someone who gets excited about value, presentation, details, and creating moments people remember. Every scoop is intentionally curated with care — not product dumped. I want customers to feel seen when they open their package. Whether it’s your favorite colors, a character you love, a thoughtful add-on, or simply the excitement of surprise, I genuinely try to respond to what’s given and create an experience that feels personal within reason and availability.

This shop is also deeply inspired by small things I never want to disappear:

In a world that moves fast, I wanted to create something that feels interactive, intentional, and memorable.

That’s also why most of my packing videos are personally filmed and curated by me rather than fully AI-generated or mass-produced. I want customers to experience a real human connection — the excitement, imperfections, personality, humor, and care behind each order. The videos are meant to feel authentic and personal rather than automated or transactional.

At the same time, I also understand that everyone has different preferences and comfort levels. That’s why I introduced a simpler AI-assisted packing video option as well — to create a more inclusive experience and offer flexibility depending on the type of experience someone is looking for. I always try to respond thoughtfully to customer preferences whenever possible and within reason.

For me, this shop is also a creative outlet. It combines storytelling, presentation, curation, creativity, community, collecting, and personalization all into one evolving experience. I genuinely enjoy creating reveals, designing experiences, curating themes, and finding ways to make each order feel exciting and special in its own way.

Somi Select Studio is not just a hobby to me. It represents building a life with more flexibility, creativity, purpose, and the ability to invest time into important and impressionable lives around me.
